1. What was your research question
“Has there been a change in TV media that has
affected the younger generation?”
2. What is your argument/position/thesis? (In other words, how did you answer your research question?)
I believe that there has been a change in censorship in the TV media field and i do believe it is having a negative effect on the younger generation.

HW 4/11
I looked up Google Sites, Weebly, and Prezi as possible platforms for my presentation. I first looked at Google Sites because I already have a Gmail account and I am too lazy to create another account for another website. The thing about Google Sites however, it is more of just creating a website and I don’t think showing my work on a website is very efficient. The good thing about it is that it is very easy to set up. I then looked up Weebly but found out I would have to create an account and it is basically just a website which I am still not sure if that is the best thing to do for my presentation. I looked at Prezi and found out I can login with my Facebook account which made me very glad. Prezi might be the way to go for me because it is basically an online PowerPoint but it is interactive.
I believe Prezi with be what I use for my presentation because it is interactive, it is not as boring as a PowerPoint, and I can get my information across in a clear and bright way.

HW 4/4
A student copied questions on homeless people off of a
website but he did not give credit to anyone because he did not know who to
give credit to. Some students have copied information off the internet but did
not give credit to anyone because they thought the knowledge was commonsense. A
good example of why the students tend to copy and paste without giving credit
is because they don’t have the physical article or book in their hands. They
assume that because anyone has the rights to it, then there is no need for
giving credit. In the video of Obama and Hillary, Obama says that a friend gave
him words that he could use in his speech. Obama did not give credit because he
said he was told to say it. This goes with the information online. Students who
copy only a little don’t think to give credit because it would be silly for
something so small.

H/W 3/14
When
trying a new search, I decided to go for a government data search because I could
look up what the government ideas are on censorship and see if they are not as
alert on the topic as they use to be. I’ve tried looking for statistics to see
if there was any effect on children that watch a certain television show or
movie with different levels of censorship but I was out of luck. I used the
website http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/oip/
and found out about some of the laws they have on censorship. The Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) is in charge of enforcing the laws on
censorship so I decided to go further into my research and see what I could
find on them. I found a link on this page of statistics they took on complaints
they have received for having too much violence and I was shocked to see how
much the number of complaints has increased from 1993 to 2000. The graph in the
link says it all http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/oip/ComplStatChart.pdf.
Even though this was from 2000, I know for a fact that the numbers must have
increased because as a child growing up in the 90’s, I was not too aware of all
the violence and profanity on television. Taking a government side to my
research project has defiantly given me
boost on giving information to my research project.

HW 3/5
The first tool I tried was Delicious.com. It was somewhat
useful for finding my topic with articles on some banned children’s cartoons
and such but not very specific on my research topic. I do believe that this
site is useful for everyday life and interest because this site has a lot of
content that use could use in everyday life. The next site I used was
Stumbleupon.com. It seemed a little more vague to me when trying to find stuff
on my research topic but there was still content there I can use for it. This
is defiantly a site you can use for everyday life. The last site I looked at
was Twitter. I never used Twitter in the past because it seems so pointless to
me, however I did join last summer, and I have not been on it since. I did find
some interesting searches I can use for my topic. Unlike me, people seem to use
this site in their everyday lives. I use social media to stay in the loop of everyday
life. I have always used Facebook as a social media but I am now using Reddit
because there are more interesting things on it. I have also actually learned a
few things from Reddit that I can apply to everyday life.

HW 2/26
This is an
article about abortion and pro-life https://twitter.com/ControVision/status/306515296380911616
The article is mostly about being pro-life and
not pro-choice. The author is stating opinions but they are also making an
argument to why their opinion is right. She did no go by much but she stated
that, “Is this what freedom and personal choice equals when violence begins
against the smallest and most defenseless humans of our nation and is even
endorsed and allowed by our government?” Not only does she make a valid point
but she uses emotional points in her article. She mentions God (Christianity),
which would have a lot of impact on the ones who are religious but mostly the
ones who are Christian. The ones who are not religious would seem offended however
she uses the word, murder, to explain her point. You could take this whole
article as a logical fallacy just because she place religion in it. Also, she
said that people do not know the lines of right and wrong, however right and
wrong could be different for anyone depending what they grew up to believe.
